About

The tossing of words onto a page, a pleasant art, necessary work to keep from igniting and shattering.  Although I had been a teacher for 32 years, until leaving the profession in June 2016, these words will not be reflections on education, unless one considers all of living an education.  I seem to have nothing to say about education that has not been said already, often too loudly and with little editing.  Although I was born to teach, I am left speechless after following the instructions of my genes for such a long time.

I will enjoy simply tossing words onto these pages, with care and joy and careful thought; sometimes even with purpose, sometimes short fiction, sometimes poetry, perhaps small essays that reflect my point in life and my point of view.  I will look to the future for a more purposeful line to appear in the reflections.

I am a hopeful writer living in the woods of Redwood Meadows, Alberta.  I sometimes teach at our local community school, love to run and often have random people for dinner, especially if they are new to Canada.  I also work with refugees in Calgary.  My husband and I have 3 grown children who appear at home regularly.
